The second reminder, and what Snooze does
The first reminder catches you when you are free. The second one catches you when you were not — and that is the one that saves the dose.
The second reminder
If a dose is neither taken nor skipped, the app asks again. It is on by default and set to 30 minutes. Change it in Settings › Reminders — “Remind me again if I don't answer”, with the delay underneath.
A second reminder is only planned for doses within the next 48 hours. That is deliberate: iOS allows a limited number of pending notifications, and spending two on every dose a fortnight ahead would leave the far end of the plan empty.
Snooze
Snooze is the button on the reminder itself, for when you have seen it but cannot take the dose this minute. It re-sends the same reminder after ten minutes by default; change the delay in Settings › Reminders. Snoozing does not record anything — the dose stays open until you answer it.
Turning them off
Turn the second reminder off if a single notification is enough for you; the dose still stays open on Today and in the widget until it is answered, so nothing is lost except the nudge.
FAQ
- How many times will it ask?
- Twice: the dose reminder and, if you don't answer, one follow-up. It will not keep nagging for hours.
- Does snoozing push the dose time?
- No. The dose keeps the time it was scheduled for, so the record stays honest — snooze only moves the notification.
- Can I set a different delay per medicine?
- No — the second-reminder and snooze delays are one setting for the whole app. Per-medicine control is on the list.
Pill Reminder helps you remember your medicines and keep a record of them. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses or check interactions. If you are unsure about a medicine or a dose, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Never miss a dose again
Pill Reminder reminds you at the right time, records the dose from the Lock Screen, looks after the whole family's medicines, and keeps a history you can hand to a doctor — all on your iPhone, with no account.
