Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Introduction
Novaz (“we,” “us” or “our”) takes your privacy seriously, and a list of the medicines you take is about as personal as data gets. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit pillreminder.novaz.app and use Novaz: Pill Reminder & Tracker (the “App,” and together with our website the “Services”).
When we refer to personal data we mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. For the purposes of the GDPR, Novaz is the data controller unless otherwise stated.
Our privacy-first approach
Pill Reminder is built to collect nothing about your health:
- No account required. You don’t create an account or give us an email address to use the App.
- Your medicines stay on your device. Medicines, schedules, doses, photos, the people you look after and your settings are stored in the App’s own database on your iPhone or iPad. We never receive them.
- No cloud sync. The App’s database is created with iCloud explicitly disabled. Apple’s App Store guideline 5.1.3(ii) forbids storing personal health information in iCloud, and we agree with it. You move your data between devices with a backup file you control.
- No advertising and no trackers. The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not build profiles about you.
- We do not sell your data. We never rent or sell your personal information to anyone.
Information we process
Your medicines and doses
Everything you enter — medicine names, strengths, forms, schedules, dose times, notes, photos, stock counts, the profiles of people you look after, and every dose you record as taken or skipped — is stored on your device and processed there. It is not uploaded to us and we have no way to access it.
Notifications and alarms
Reminders are scheduled with iOS on your device. The medicine name and amount are part of the notification text held by the system on your phone; they are not sent to us or to anyone else. If you turn on “Hide medicine names”, that text omits the names entirely. Alarm-style reminders use Apple’s alarm framework on your device in the same way.
Health data
The App does not read from or write to Apple Health, and it does not collect any measurement about you. It records only what you tell it about your own medicines.
Backups you create
A backup is a file produced on your device and saved wherever you choose through the iOS share sheet. It contains your profiles, medicines and dose history. It is never sent to us, and once you save it, keeping it safe is in your hands.
Our other apps
The App’s settings can show a list of other Novaz apps. To do this it loads a public list of our apps from novaz.app and their public App Store details. These requests contain no personal data.
App configuration
The App may fetch a small configuration file over a secure connection so we can adjust settings without an update. This request contains no personal data and is not used to identify you.
Contact information
If you contact us by email (for example at support@novaz.app), we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and provide support. Please do not send us medical details — we do not need them to fix an app problem.
Website analytics
Our website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It records aggregate, non-identifying statistics such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, browser, and device type. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal information that identifies you. It runs on this website only — never inside the App.
Payment information
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. If you buy a subscription, billing is handled entirely by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple tells the App whether a subscription is active; that answer contains nothing about your health.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- provide and maintain the Services and their core functionality;
- understand, in aggregate, how our website is used so we can improve it;
- respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests;
- protect the security of our Services and comply with applicable law.
Sharing of your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the limited circumstances described here:
- Service providers. We use Apple (App Store distribution and billing) and Umami (website analytics). These providers process information only as needed to perform their services, and neither receives anything about your medicines.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
- Business transfers. If Novaz is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.
Data retention
The App does not maintain accounts, and your medicines, doses and settings are kept on your device — deleting the App removes them, and there is no copy anywhere else. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle your request and to comply with our legal obligations. Analytics data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain accounts and hold no health information about you, these rights are mostly exercised on the device itself: your data is in your hands, and deleting the App deletes it. For anything we do hold (such as support emails) contact us at support@novaz.app and we will help.
Information about other people
If you use the App to look after someone else’s medicines, you are entering information about them. It stays on your device under the same terms as your own, and we never receive it. Please make sure you have that person’s agreement, or the authority to act for them.
Security
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect information. We design the App to keep your data on your device and to minimize what leaves it; that data is protected at rest by iOS file encryption tied to your device passcode, and you can add a Face ID or Touch ID lock to the App itself. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
The Services are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent may of course use the App to manage a child’s medicines from their own device. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Please review this page periodically.
