Mark a dose as taken, or skip it
Recording a dose has to be faster than forgetting it, so there are four ways to do it and none of them needs the app open.
From the reminder
- Press and hold the notification, or pull it down on the Lock Screen.
- Tap Taken to record it, Skip to record that you left it, or Snooze to be asked again shortly.
- The dose disappears from Today and from the widget. Nothing else is needed.
From the widget
The Next medicine widget shows what is due next with a Taken button on it. One tap records the whole group and the widget moves on to the next dose.
From the Today screen
Doses are grouped under Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening and Night. Tap a dose to record it, or swipe it for Taken, Skip and Undo. The ring at the top counts how many of today's doses are done.
Taken or skipped?
Taken means you took it. Skipped means you decided not to — a dose your doctor told you to leave, a day you were fasting, a medicine you had already taken elsewhere. A dose you simply never answered is counted as missed, which is different from both: the app works that out itself from the empty slot, so nothing needs to be marked as missed.
FAQ
- Can I record a dose I took earlier?
- Yes. Open the day on the History calendar and record it there, or tap the dose on Today — recording it late still counts it as taken, with the time it was actually recorded.
- I tapped Taken by mistake. Can I undo it?
- Yes — swipe the dose on Today and tap Undo, which clears the record and leaves the dose open again.
- Does skipping a dose hurt my adherence figure?
- A skipped dose is counted as not taken, because it wasn't. It is kept apart from a missed one in the record, so a doctor can see the difference.
Pill Reminder helps you remember your medicines and keep a record of them. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses or check interactions. If you are unsure about a medicine or a dose, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Never miss a dose again
Pill Reminder reminds you at the right time, records the dose from the Lock Screen, looks after the whole family's medicines, and keeps a history you can hand to a doctor — all on your iPhone, with no account.
