Before food, with food, or after food
“Take with food” is on half the boxes in the cupboard and forgotten by the time the phone rings. Attaching it to the dose puts it where it is read.
Set it
- Open the medicine and find the food setting.
- Choose Any time, Before food, With food or After food.
- Save. The label appears next to the dose on Today and in the medicine's own page.
What it does not do
It does not move the reminder, delay it, or wait for you to eat. The app does not know when you ate, and it will not guess. It is a label on the dose — nothing more and nothing less.
Making it work in practice
If a medicine must be taken half an hour before breakfast, set the dose time to half an hour before you actually eat, and label it Before food. The time does the work; the label reminds you why it is at that odd hour.
FAQ
- Can the app remind me again after I have eaten?
- No. Set the dose time to when you want to be reminded.
- Is the food label in the doctor's report?
- The report lists doses and what was recorded for them; the food label is part of how the medicine is set up and is visible in the app.
- My medicine says 'on an empty stomach'. Which do I pick?
- Before food is the closest, and the dose time is what makes it work. Ask your pharmacist how long before a meal that particular medicine needs.
Pill Reminder helps you remember your medicines and keep a record of them. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses or check interactions. If you are unsure about a medicine or a dose, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Never miss a dose again
Pill Reminder reminds you at the right time, records the dose from the Lock Screen, looks after the whole family's medicines, and keeps a history you can hand to a doctor — all on your iPhone, with no account.
