Every day, specific days, or every few days
Most medicines are daily, and for those there is nothing to think about. The other three types exist for the ones that are not.
Every day
The dose times repeat every day from the start date. If the medicine has an end date, it stops by itself on that day.
Specific days
Tick the weekdays. A Monday-Wednesday-Friday medicine lands on exactly those days every week, whatever the date — use this for anything your doctor described in terms of weekdays.
Every few days
Counted from the start date: every second day, every third, every tenth. The day of the week drifts, which is the point — “every second day” and “Monday, Wednesday, Friday” only agree for one week, and then they do not. Set the start date to the day of the first dose and the rest follows.
As needed
No schedule and no reminder. The medicine sits on its own page with a Log dose button, so painkillers and inhalers are recorded without pretending they have a time.
FAQ
- Can one medicine have two schedules — weekdays and weekends?
- Not within one medicine. Add it twice, once for each pattern, with the same name and different days.
- How do I handle every other week?
- Use Every few days with an interval of 14, starting on the day of the first dose.
- What about a dose that changes — two tablets this week, one the next?
- Each time of day carries its own amount, but a tapering course needs editing when it changes. Set a reminder for yourself on the day it steps down.
Pill Reminder helps you remember your medicines and keep a record of them. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses or check interactions. If you are unsure about a medicine or a dose, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Never miss a dose again
Pill Reminder reminds you at the right time, records the dose from the Lock Screen, looks after the whole family's medicines, and keeps a history you can hand to a doctor — all on your iPhone, with no account.
