A course of medicine with a start and an end date
A course is the one case where a reminder app usually goes wrong: the antibiotics finish on Friday and the phone keeps asking about them until you remember to delete something.
Set the dates
- Open the medicine and find the start and end dates.
- Set the start date to the day of the first dose — today, or the day the prescription begins.
- Turn on the end date and set the last day of the course. It is included: a course ending on Friday still has Friday's doses.
- Save. The doses appear on Today only within those dates, and reminders stop by themselves afterwards.
Counting a course correctly
“Seven days” means the start date plus six. If the box says ten days and you start on the 1st, the end date is the 10th.
When it finishes
Nothing disappears. The medicine stops reminding and leaves Today; its history stays in the record and in reports, which is what you want when the same thing is prescribed again.
Stopping early
If a medicine is stopped before the end date, archive it from its own page. It stops immediately and keeps everything already recorded. Never stop a prescribed course early because the app made it easy — that is a question for whoever prescribed it.
FAQ
- Can I extend a course?
- Edit the end date. The extra days appear on Today straight away.
- What is the difference between archiving and deleting?
- Archiving keeps the history and stops the reminders. Deleting removes the medicine and every dose recorded for it, permanently.
- Can I start a medicine in the future?
- Yes — set the start date to the day it begins and nothing is shown or rung until then.
Pill Reminder helps you remember your medicines and keep a record of them. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses or check interactions. If you are unsure about a medicine or a dose, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Never miss a dose again
Pill Reminder reminds you at the right time, records the dose from the Lock Screen, looks after the whole family's medicines, and keeps a history you can hand to a doctor — all on your iPhone, with no account.
